Job Description

Administrative & HR Assistant Location Richmond, VA (Eastview area) :

Job Summary: Responsible for all onboarding of new associates and related duties. Serve as administrative assistant to EVP.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to the following):

  • HR Related
    • Coordinate with HR to identify vacancies and maintain postings and ads.
    • Screen applicants and schedule initial interviews
    • Conduct all pre-employment screenings for candidates.
    • Make recommendations to hiring managers to fill vacancies.
    • Conduct new associate orientation and training.
    • Create and maintain new associate files.
  • Other Administrative Duties
    • Audit and complete shipment data entry.
    • Work with the Plant Manager to ensure weekly reporting accuracy.
    • Process weekly customer invoicing
    • Maintain internal customer database.
  • Assistant to EVP
    • Maintain and manage Executive Vice President's calendar.
    • Coordinate meetings, including but not limited to Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings.
    • Assist in preparation for meetings involving VHL Board of Directors as well as other industry associations.
    • Data analysis and reporting

Accountability and Miscellaneous:

  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher preferred

Prerequisite:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, read and comprehend written materials and give work instruction.
  • Must be able to organize multiple tasks and perform under minimal supervision.
  • Skill in working independently/in the absence of immediate supervision.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of assigned duties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull as needed during orientation, training, demonstration.
    • This job is approximately 85% sedentary.
  • Must be capable of regular, full-time attendance.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
