Job Summary

Manage and maintain all ponds and facilities while ensuring bio-security. Maintain ponds at appropriate levels and quality for the purpose of growing healthy fish.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of the GloFish facility production ponds.
• Must understand and demonstrate safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment.
• Create and maintain a positive environment for all employees free of intimidation and harassment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the accomplishment of Key Performance Indicators including safety, quality, production, cost and development.

Fish Husbandry Duties

• Stock, maintain, and harvest 60 aquaculture ponds.
• Treat ponds regularly with herbicides and pesticides while wearing appropriate safety equipment.
• Evaluate fish behavior and report any inconsistencies.
• Evaluate ponds for oxygen and pH and ensure ponds are bio-secure. All lines and water lines should be evaluated regularly.
• Monitor fry ponds closely to evaluate growth.
• Maintain inventory and purchase feed and supplies within budget.
• Manage pond covering during winter season.
• Maintain equipment as needed.

Education and Experience Profile

• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum of 1 year fish husbandry experience
• Experience managing multiple fish lines preferred
• High degree of discretion dealing with confidential and proprietary information

Required Skills

• Ability to lift 75 pounds waist high

Work Environment

• Must be able to work in extremely hot and humid conditions
