Job Summary: 
The Shipping Associate Driver position will be responsible to safely operate a CDL-class box truck/truck/vehicle(s) to transport and deliver products to assigned destinations in Connecticut and occasionally surrounding states. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies, while operating the vehicle.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the box truck/truck/vehicle(s) to ensure its roadworthiness.
• Responsible for all deliveries assigned by the Shipping Dispatcher.
• Load and unload goods, securing cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and maintain detailed records of deliveries and pickups.
• Plan delivery routes efficiently, considering factors like traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues.
• Handle delivery-related paperwork, including bills of lading, invoices, and delivery confirmations.
• Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the box truck, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
• Adhere to safety procedures when loading and unloading cargo and using equipment like liftgates.
• Represent the company in a professional and customer-focused manner during interactions with clients.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing commercial vehicle operation.
• Excellent navigational skills and familiarity with GPS and route planning tools.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately complete paperwork.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with dispatch, customers, and coworkers.
• Physical ability to load and unload cargo and operate liftgates and other equipment.
• Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to accident prevention.
• Skill to operate a forklift, hand truck, manual pallet jack and other equipment required. 

Education and Experience: 

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing commercial vehicle operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A/B with a clean driving record.
• Must possess DOT Driver Medical Card
• Proven experience as a CDL Truck Driver, preferably in a commercial setting 1-3 months experience or training. 

Physical Requirements: Standing- 40%, Sitting-60%, 

• Ability to move at a fast pace and lift 40-60lbs.
• Move materials weighing between 5-750lbs. with a manual pallet jack. 
• FMCSA guidelines do not specify the number of pounds a driver must be able to lift. However, the CDC table of General Physical Activities Defined by Level of Intensity lists “loading and unloading a truck” as an example of a vigorous activity that may require the individual to exert a significant effort, including, but not limited to, repositioning freight, pulling and releasing the fifth wheel handle and tandem pin lever, carry and move freight of all sizes and weights, install and remove tire chains, hook and unhook trailers, install, secure and reposition straps, and chains and tie-downs.
