Primary Function: Responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, distribution, storage and sterilization of surgical instrumentation both in the Operating Room and the Central Processing area.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
-Decontamination, clean, inspect and assemble surgical instrumentation for the Operating Room and the entire hospital to include offices off campus.
-Operate prevacuum steam sterilizers, ethylene oxide sterilizer, washer sterilizers and decontaminators. Testing sterilizers and maintaining accurate records.
-Maintain a constant supply of reusable sterile linen.
-Decontaminate and process durable patient care equipment.
-Maintain and distribute sterile supplies.
-Greet/receive customers, answer phone.
Job Qualifications
1. High School Diploma
2.One year experience as a Sterilization Technician
3. Proficient in both areas of Central Sterile.
