Job Description

The Entry Level Associate Attorney is responsible for reviewing all collections accounts to be referred to local counsel. This individual is responsible for internal in-depth file and portfolio review including balance verification, document review, file status review, statute of limitations calculation, as well as any other information necessary for litigation. Additionally, this person is responsible for preparing affidavits, reviewing and preparing discovery responses, tracking contested litigation, and reviewing legal questions from local counsel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to local counsel correspondence daily.
• Generate litigation reports.
• Monitor and review all contested litigation account tasks - track litigation milestones.
• Prepare affidavits in support of litigation.
• Conduct POC review.
• Assist with client and regulatory audits as necessary.
• Accept any other responsibilities or duties assigned by Senior Associate Attorney or other management.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 0-3 years of legal experience
• Must be highly detailed oriented and pay great attention to compliance and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to audit and update vast amounts of data
• Significant understanding of legalese and the litigation process
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office - ability to format/create template and other reports in Excel and Word
• Ability to effectively work as a team
• Experience with Data Tree and TLO is a plus
• J.D. required – bar passage preferred (any state)
