Job Description

Embark on a dynamic career journey as the HR Assistant, where you'll be the backbone of our Human Resources department, orchestrating daily operations and administrative activities with finesse. This role is responsible for the daily operational and administrative activities of the Human Resources department in relation to recruiting and onboarding. Picture yourself managing employee onboarding, overseeing HRIS and payroll systems, and maintaining meticulous recordsall while ensuring compliance with policies. Youwill assist with recruitment, record maintenance, and welcoming new employees. This role requires an independent and organized individual who can manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced environment. The HR Assistant is expected to be a great communicator with a passion for interacting with new people. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in "other related duties as assigned": Meet with new employees for new hire appointments to complete hiring paperwork, provide company information, and answer initial questions. Send, collect, and process all paperwork related to new hires, including compensation plans and non-disclosure/non-competition agreements. Welcome new hires to onboarding meetings with prepared onboarding kits and an office tour. Schedule onboarding meetings and communicate with new hires and managers. Provide new hires with manuals, guidelines, and login information as needed. Assist with recruitment activities such as job postings and job fairs. Track temporary employee information, coordinating next steps with hiring manager at end of assignment. Update and maintain HRIS/payroll system, online systems, reports, and spreadsheets with employee information. Process employee changes including job titles, manager changes, compensation plans, etc. Assist with the maintenance of paper and electronic records, including filing, scanning, and shredding employee records according to retention rules and policies. Assist with Work Comp, FMLA paperwork and mailings. Maintain company drivers listing, tracking current drivers and completing approval process for new drivers. Assist in termination process, including processing termination paperwork, updating internal systems, and conducting exit interviews Maintain company drivers listing and DOT records, completing approval process for new drivers. Oversee annual DOT driver renewals and maintain DOT compliance files. Oversee the completion of employee performance reviews. Process employee changes, including job titles, manager changes, compensation plans, etc. Maintain new hire/onboarding supplies and documents, printing and ordering items as needed, and preparing onboarding kits. Process invoices related to onboarding process, including temp agencies and mailings. Assist with tracking and completion of company training programs, including HIPAA, manager training, diversity training, etc. Assist with company-wide communications. Assist with employee engagement activities. Back-up to other positions within the HR Department. Support internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests. Responsible for understanding, staying updated on, and abiding by the Employee Handbook as written. Perform other related duties, as assigned. Provides administrative support in the following areas: Assist in the management of employee benefits. Assist employees with all employment-related questions and interpretation of policies and procedures. Assist employees with accessing online systems and resetting passwords. Qualifications/Requirements: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong conflict management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively with and interact positively with departments throughout the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in general computer literacy, email, and Microsoft Office. In Office Position 5 days per week Education/Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of experience in Human Resources preferred. Recruitment experience a plus.
