Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional looking to advance your career as a Litigation Paralegal? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team full-time. This is an in-office position that offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits program.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare Notices, Motions, Affidavits, Pleadings, and Correspondence for Attorney review.
Document Management: Compile and redact Exhibits for legal pleadings.
Client Communication: Manage communications in all proprietary systems (BKFS, Tempo, Vendorscape, etc.) on behalf of Attorneys.
Fee Management: Oversee fee approval processes and request additional fees as needed.
Attorney Support: Assist Attorneys in managing their workload and case files.
Court Communications: Coordinate with courts regarding filings, hearings, and outstanding orders.
Service Process Management: Communicate with service entities, including sheriffs, regarding service on parties to cases.
Third-Party Follow-Ups: Liaise with third parties for case follow-ups and document returns.
Case Management: Input current case notes and tasks daily in Time Matters, and ensure all billing entries are completed in Case Aware.
Calendar Management: Maintain case calendars, ensuring all pending deadlines and events are accurately recorded.
Legal Document Filing: Handle filing and recording of legal documents, both electronically and physically.
Billing: Complete and input 1380 hours of billable time per year. Request checks for non-electronically billed costs and ensure receipts are submitted timely.
Legal Research: Utilize systems like Pacer, Westlaw, and the Department of Defense database for legal research.
Daily Communications: Engage daily with Attorneys regarding case issues and deadlines. Escalate urgent matters as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's (B.A.) or Associate's (A.A.) degree, or two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification: Paralegal Certificate is required.
Skills:
Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Customer Service: Capable of managing difficult situations with professionalism.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective at conflict resolution, maintaining confidentiality, and listening actively.
Oral Communication: Strong speaking skills, able to clarify and respond to questions effectively.
Written Communication: Proficient in clear and informative writing, with strong editing skills.
