Job Description

Middle School Language Arts Teacher (5th-8th grade - one class per grade)

• Teach language arts content and skills, utilizing adopted course of study
• Adapt material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students
• Evaluate each student’s progress toward standard mastery
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicates these objectives to students
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by administrative regulations
• Communicate with parents or guardians, other teachers, and administrators to resolve any behavioral or academic issues
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence
• Complete other duties assigned by administration
• Teach Grammar, Literature, Vocabulary and Writing
