Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys and senior paralegals with a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of the legal department. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates or individuals with minimal experience who are looking to start a career in the legal field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Management: Assist in the preparation, filing, and management of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Research: Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation.
  • Case Management: Help organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents are accessible and up-to-date.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and schedule appointments.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and maintaining calendars.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist in the preparation of trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Database Maintenance: Update and maintain legal databases and case management systems.
  • Compliance: Ensure all legal documents comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Billing: Assist in tracking billable hours and preparing client invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certification: Paralegal certification is a plus but not required.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a legal environment, internships or related experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
    • Familiarity with legal research tools and databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
    • Strong ethical standards and professionalism
