Job Description

• Expertly weld small, medium, and large bore pipes of various metals and alloys, including carbon steel and stainless steel.
  
• Perform complex mechanical installations as directed by engineering.
• Utilize 6G TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding techniques with ASME/EN qualifications.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Lay out and install piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Mark up construction drawings and specifications with as-built status.
• Collaborate with Thermal Systems Engineers and Site Construction Manager to order necessary tools, equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Work in conjunction with other crews and lead persons.
• Maintain responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned to the group.
• Follow all work-related safety directions, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Skills Required

• Current welding certifications (recently expired certifications may be acceptable contingent upon successful requalification prior to employment).
  
• OSHA 10-hour safety course is a plus.
• 6G TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) with ASME/EN qualifications for carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Basic computer skills for email communication, documenting daily work and progress, and tracking procurements and status.
• Attention to detail and alertness to ensure safety.
• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Graduation from high school, military schools, vocational school, recognized craftsman apprenticeship program, or equivalent.
  
• At least 5 to 10 years of experience in a combination of two or more skilled trades, with knowledge of and ability to use tools, materials, and methods.

Additional Requirements

• Overtime opportunities and seasonal work availability.
  
• Shift Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Central
